Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. Statistics show that 1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia. If you are struggling with Alzheimer’s or Dementia or are a caregiver of someone with the disease, please contact your local chapter for support. Alzheimer’s Association provides free support services to individuals and their families. They offer a 24/7 helpline, support groups, an online caregiver resource center, safety services, care consultation services, and engagement programs for individuals with memory disorders.
In our area there are two fantastic chapters:
- Cleveland Area Chapter – This chapter covers five counties in Ohio including Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake and Lorain. They have three local offices located in Beachwood, Avon and Mentor. Please visit alz.org/cleveland for more information.
- Greater East Ohio Area Chapter – This chapter covers seventeen counties in Ohio including Belmont, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Mahoning, Medina, Muskingum, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas and Wayne.
